The Curse of SME

Cassiopeia and all the other fans have been utterly bothered, extremely stressed out and deathly afraid since they found out about the lawsuit that was filed by three members of TVXQ, specifically Junsu, Jaejoong and Yoochun. They have been conducting campaigns to support their idol and have used Jaejoong's and Yoochun's identical tattoo as their insignia: Always Keep the Faith.

Late in October, the court had finally made a decision that favored the three members. Fans thought that was the end of the drama, unfortunately, that wasn't the epilogue of a real-life drama; on the other hand, it was just a start of a new chapter, a start of a new issue. DBSK is facing a point wherein they might break up. It started from SM's Press Conference, claiming that the members sued their agency because of their involvement with the cosmetic business. More consternation for the fans when Yunho and Changmin released their statements regarding the issue. The other three responded, too, only to be found out later that the interview conducted was a sham. The heat of the controversy got more intense as Junsu, Jaejoong and Yoochun have no plans on having projects involving TVXQ and without these three, wouldn't there be TVXQ at all.

Is it just me or does SM have a five-year curse on every successful boy band?

H.O.T., the first group that turned Korean music into music for the youth, disbanded on their fifth year. A rumored financial issue was pointed out as the root cause for the split. Shinhwa, the next legendary boy band after H.O.T., left SM and signed in another agency. (I wonder why they refused SM's offer.) After Shinhwa was DBSK who debuted in the late 2003. Five years after success, after being able to conquer both Korea and Japan and the rest of Asia, Dong Bang Shin Ki faces the same dilemma as the other groups. The question that left us hanging is how Dong Bang Shin Ki will end the story. Will they disband like H.O.T. or will they transfer as one to another agency? Or maybe, this dispute will be resolve. That we do not know. We just have to stay tune.
